I just want to encourage anyone who may need it. I believe you folks, as I listen to what you've been through and get to know you, are special. It's not easy to call right from wrong and especially when your standing alone and being chastised for it. God is allowing you to through this because He knows you can handle it, you didn't walk away.
Alot of you, (like myself), got thrown a curve because of all the disfunction, church is not like you expected, not like the Bible. You all have great Faith in Jesus and because you do you will be brought to a much higher level. Is what we are going through any different from the Pharisees? Was it right to stand up against those injustices? How tough was that transition for Paul? God needed Paul to stand up for him just like he needs you now. Christians from my former church ask me what church I go to, I say I don't go to church right now, they tell me how important it is, I tell them that God wants me to be with likeminded people so when I find that, I will go. I have heard many times from the pulpit that people are being "sifted out of the church", I beleive God has started the real "sifting" of his good people out of these situations, and you are going to see it more and more. I don't know if you've seen that movie "Left Behind", but one scene that stood out was the Pastor of the local church that got left behind, I've always felt that the author of the story was making a point, even though it wasn't explained why. I attended a Joyce Meyer conference for three days and everyday she started off by saying that the leaders of the churches better get their act together and eluded to the abuse that was taking place. It is starting to come out on a national level.
God has drawn a line in the sand, stay strong, God is with you.
