One of my daughters decided to go to night school to learn how to sew and stitch. For the last year I have watched as she and my wife raided the rag bag and disappeared with odd scraps of this and that. Then girlfriends would come around with oddments of material. All I ever used these rags for was to clean up after changing the oil and greasing th chainsaw. I saw no value in them and must admit to a certain amusement that sensible sane people would see any purpose in junk.

Well today I got a surprise. I was presented with a beautiful patchwork quilt. The patterns are quite stunning. It is all in symmetry and even to my mere male eye the sheer work and dedication has the power to affect my heart. I felt quit huimbled that all I had seen was scraps of torn cloth and had no conception what they were going to be part of when placed in their proper order by the one who had the plan from the beginning. It is far to beautiful and has taken its place as a wall hanging to be seen as the first thing by visitors as they come in our door. I point to it and tell them my daughter made that.

I just want to encourage each and every one of you to believe that you are also part of the Patchwork Quilt that God is making. Right now you may feel like worthless pieces of rag from day to day but you are all part of a design in the mind of God. One day you will adorn His streets of gold when the work is done and God will call you the apple of His eye and His Jewels.

Malachi 3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.
