Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes... Grin. It was a great one! Had a lot of fun. Went on a 3 hour train ride today which included WAY too much good food! :0)

I was wondering about something... There was this lady that had gone to my cult/church and she left a LONG time before me...but from things I heard subsequently, she REALLY suffered... I've been wanting to find her for years. I want to know how she is and give her hope. They did TERRIBLE things to her when she left...but...she's a "she"...so if she's divorced and gotten re-married, well, I just don't know how to find her. I know a lot of stuff about her - but nothing in the last 10 years. I don't have a bunch of money, though I'll try stuff that costs under $20 right now. I did sign up for a few things - but they were all dead ends (places that promised to give you vital statistics, but didn't).

If anyone has any ideas for me...I thought of looking up her hubby (possibly ex-hubby), too...but I've not hit anything so far.

Thanks!!

Hannah

Hannah,

Try posting on forums like family ancestory and things like that. We done that for a girl here in town who had been adopted and we wanted to find family for her after her adoptive parents were killed. She was a grown woman and she was trying to locate some relatives and we found some just that way. I started by putting her name in the search engine and like you I came up with vital statistics and I tried entering a whole bunch of ways and finally we posted and people started emailing this yahoo address we made up to advise and then by the time we were able to make good contact this lady was out of my life and she is moving on with her relatives. She is from my ex-church and I am considered contaminated.
Anyway, you have the picture. We were able to gain a lot of information from the internet to locate these people. It took a while but it can be done. We didn't spend on red dime either.

I done it again just recently too for myself.

Thanks, Daisy! I THINK I might have found one person last night - maybe two. The second one might really be able to have some influence on my old group. I think it's time.

Cool...
