Please keep me in prayer. (If you believe in prayer) I am in the process of looking for a job and am discouraged right now. :(

A prayer for you.

Dear Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,

I ask that You would guide Spongfan in her search for employment. Please draw her near to Your heart in and through this process. Please provide for her spiritual, physical, financial, and emotional needs as she faces this daunting, and often discouraging ordeal. AMEN

In His Grace,

Michael

Lord, please provide Spongfan with a good job, with the pay that he needs and appropriate accomodations!

Thank you for loving us Lord!

Thanks for the prayers, although I am not a "he" (it's okay, I guess you didn't know. My real name is Grace, but my internet handle comes about because I am a fan of Bishop Spong). The Spongebob thing is quite funny though. I am a huge fan of Spongebob Squarepants, too!!!!! Guess I never thought about it.- and James Dobson does condemn Spongebob for supporting those who live alternative lifestyles, so I gladly accept that association!!!!!- although I clearly am not homosexual myself (any great guys out there?????) ;)

Dear Grace,
Having just gone through several harrowing months of looking , and applying for jobs; trying to find the "right" one etc.... I "finally" , today, have been offered a position as a Director Of Nursing!

This is a career move for me, and one , I believe, only came about because of those who have been faithfully praying for me here ,and the help of my counsellor in restoring the self esteem my Pastor tore down over several years!
(short version: he told me I had made my work and idol, and was "not responsibly " able to earn the money attached to the senior positions I had. In other words I had deceived myself that I was actually a "good Nurse Manager"!)
I lost ALL my confidence, in any ability, to work as a nurse, scared to death I would "hurt" someone with my "controlling"/"Jezebell", ways!! Oh, and I might earn "too much" money!! So , I quit ,and financially it's been a nightmare!.....) :(

Anyway, ALL this to encourage you that prayer does work, even in cyber space!!!
SO, I'm here with the others praying for you too........

With all the time differences you should get 24 hours of prayer; that would be cool! :D

As for sponge Bob; he is our screensaver, and graces Amy's walls, along with her surfing posters and cat pictures!
( I didn't know sponge bob was "evil" too; ya learn something new every day! :p )

And ,as for any decent, single fella's out there, I'm queing up too; but I think you have a monopoly there with less "backage" than I , at the moment! ;) :o

God Bless,
Love
Kerrin ;)

Just to set the record straight... Dr. Dobson did not condemn Spongebob Squarepants for participating in the video... he condemned the folks who made the video for using Spongebob and other favorite children's characters in a way intended to indoctrinate children to their viewpoint on homosexuality. One comment he made got twisted then blown out of proportion, and now all anyone remembers is the association between Spongebob and homosexuality, and not what really happened.

I tend to lean towards the "love the sinner, hate the sin" viewpoint Michael so eloquently expressed. I have known only a few homosexuals personally, and I have made a point of not being condemning in the rare instances when the issue HAS come up. No point in alienating someone needlessly. A little respect goes a long way.

We will all hope and pray that your search does go well and that you find a job which is suitable for you. If I may be permitted a small word of advice, please ALSO do what you need to do to support your recovery from your feelings of discouragement and depression. Being unemployed can weigh heavily on your sense of self-worth, but you also need to know that YOU'RE OK, even when you're NOT employed and doing what you hoped to do with your life. Sometimes life is just "like that"----and no....don't buy into your dad's view of "why" you're not doing as well as you'd hoped right now. Being "goal-directed" is one thing; having a true sense of the life skills we have ANYWAY is another.

Enjoy your day today and believe "in the process!"

Love and prayers--

Theodora

P.S. You've not mentioned your new friend of late. Is he still in the picture? Hope so!

P.P.S. If you've happened to catch some of the news about news anchor Peter Jennings and his life yesterday---this now acclaimed "icon" in the news world had a network news anchor position when he was in his mid-twenties and FAILED at it. On his own, he realized that he needed more "seasoning," so he spent some time as a reporter in Europe and also in the Mideast before coming back to his dream job as a network anchor, where he did such a good job----or so so many would now say! Sometimes our dreams do come true "one day at a time" as the saying is! Hang in there!

Dan,

That's okay. Thank you so much for your prayer though- and especially the comment about "accomodations." That must have been the Spirit working through your prayer. I sooooo want to get out of my parent's house (I am 25 with 2 masters degrees- quite humiliating) I need some accomodations right now more than anything!

Thanks again,
Grace (Spongfan) :D
