hello theo-

vacation run down for you-

The first night we went to a beach in Rhode Island. A storm was passing through so my 17 year old cast out a fishing lure-- and within 10 minutes pulled in a stripped bass. It was really good on the fire!

My little girl (2) rode the "flying horses" all by herself over and over again, trying to catch the brass ring in WatchHill. She wouldn't get off her "white horse" LOL. Everyone else was surprised to see one so young ride by herself.

We set up camp and my 5 year old found a "secret path" to a huge lake. The joy and laughter from him was so awesome.

that was the first day, and it just got better from there.

we watched movies on the beach, ate much to much seafood, are as dark as we can get in tans, found starfish, boogie boarded BIG waves, saw the Smirkus Circus (pinocchio), watched concerts in the parks and had a really great time.

We also went to the Cape (Cod) for a few days to visit my grandmother who is off island in a rehab hospital recovering from a stroke and hip fracture. My grandmother is from Martha's Vineyard, a little island off the coast of Mass. It is very difficult to get over there to see her in July or August so we were glad to spend time with her. We spent about 4 days visiting her and my other relatives. Not as relaxing, but REALLY REALLY good to see everyone. We visited a little aquarium in Woodshole, and went up the Nobska lighthouse.

We love to get a linguisa pizza out there. It is a portugese sausage that is like a cross between kielbasa and pepperoni. Can't get it around here. So we did that one night too.

no, we aren't portugese. Mostly english and irish here in the US since the mayflower. All my relatives settled in the cape area- mostly on island- since then. My mother and father left the island so we are pretty much the only family away from Cape Cod.

MY 17 year old found a new sport, asking the cute twins at the next site to borrow a graham cracker !

Hehehehe One of the girls came over to us first to borrow milk. When we did not have any, they asked to borrow "butter, yogurt, anything????" It was an obvious ploy to meet him. So one night he was out by our campfire talking to one twin, Jackie. The next day I found out from her mother he had come by to "borrow a graham cracker" !!!!! The boy doesn't even eat smores!!!!!!!!!!!!! She surfs so now he wants a surf board for christmas....

It was a great time and I think we decided today to go back out there next weekend.

thanks for asking.

Butterfly,

missed you too... I heard from my mom that it was HOT HOT HOT. We weren't listening to any tv and were always in the water so we didn't notice it too much.
When I got back, it looks like my cucumbers took a beating from the heat :( .

It is good to be back with friends.
