Don't get resentful of a resentful person

Good enough is sometimes better than the best

We can't see till we can see or hear till we can hear

I was really good at practicing 'First Things First' as long as it involved me being first

I tried to drown my sorrows with booze, but my sorrows knew how to swim

The way I reached my bottom was to stop digging

It is said, 'The truth hurts'. It's not the truth that hurts, but denial. The truth, once accepted, sets us free

If you just want to forget about recovery and drink, it will take you about 20 seconds to unplug your Higher Power and uncork you're Lower Power

My day could be absolutely ruined by what I construed to be the remark in someone's expression

We learn in recovery that our outsides don't touch our insides

My personal program of recovery became so personal that it didn't leave room for anyone else.

Emotional stamina, the willingness to hang in there, is a sober gift

Alcoholics vs. Non-alcoholics: Non-alcoholics change their behavior to meet their goals; alcoholics change their goals to meet their behavior

When I'm alone too long my brain starts chasing its own tail

It is a measure of contented sobriety to accept the contradictions in life.

What a treacherous emotion self-pity is for the recovering alcoholic

Blessed are those with nothing to say, who have the courage not to say it
