Will certainly be keeping you and yours in prayer. I was SO sorry to learn of the additional bombings in London today!!!!...and yes...all of you are in my prayers that a way is found to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent further attacks...SOMEHOW! WHAT a horrible situation.
I do pray that your upcoming events will prove more exciting/fulfilling than cause for anxiety. Just remember that you wouldn't have been given these opportunities if people didn't believe you could do it!!!
And yes...prayers for a nice visit with your mother as well. She must be so proud of you, even while probably being concerned for you in your travels etc. I'll hope you CAN both have a very special time together which will build good memories.
All the best!
In His love---

If it weren't so bloody hot... I would suggest hot tea with honey... but other than that, try rehearsing at half volume whenever you can, and try to consciously avoid "belting". I know some songs demand it, but it can really strain your voice.
Wow... twenty songs... even when we prepare a concert here, it usually isn't more than fourteen or fifteen songs, and that's CHORAL music, not solos.
May I ask what your range is? I am officially an alto, but the more of my upper range I lose, the more I sit with the tenors. (Like they mind.) I think I help them stay on pitch. ;)
Courage, dear heart.

Sharon,
Most Aussies and Brits drink tea whether its bloody hot or bloody cold! :D
( My Mum drinks min. 10 cups of tea a day!)
A habit we picked up from the British when they escorted us here , I believe.
( I recall my grandfather sitting me on his knee and spoon feeding me tea with milk and sugar when I was a toddler!)
Anyway ,Blessings Blake in whatever it is your up to.

My prayers to you, blake.
I cannot imagine what that must be like. Even after 9/11, since I lived on the westcoast, and seldom took planes, I never really worried, even as an American, I really can't relate.
Thanks for sharing.
Blake,
my prayers for you.
We live in Connecticut, many commute to NYC and so we knew families that lived through 911 horrors....
I'll never forget the day I turned on the news and watched a "fire" being reported at the towers while another plane crashed! and then hearing from a panic reporter that a plane was headed towards the capitol of our country.
I believed we were under attack and the end of the world had begun. I got my kids from school, my husband; a state employee was dismissed from work- and we went to the beach. Around here we hear a lot of air traffic, VERY eery when we realized there were no planes in the sky....
we weren't by a tv or radio, just being together as a family. So struck to this day remembering the day the skys were empty and quiet.....

THEY SHOT A SUICIDE BOMBER THIS MORNING ON THE TUBE IN FRONT OF EVERYONE.
I didnt see it, but its really hectic over here.
The sense of fear and pressure is horrible. We all dont know what to expext and we're really all scared. Just trying to get on with our lives.
As far as the concert- I will try avoid belting as much as possible, but the songs lend themselves towrads this..among songs I have to sing are MUSIC of teh NIGHT from phantom..its really easy, (well- for me) but I ahve to focus on various styles ...please continue to pray... thanks
My range is a high tenor satscout- I find songs like 'Why God, why..' from Miss Saigon really hard becasue they sit on my break! So I ahve to keep them lyrical and cant open up for the. The middle stuff is harder for me than is the lower or higher stuff...apparantly there are not that many tenors around so when they find one, its great! :D

...just watching things on TV from the "safety" of the Midwest was terrifying enough for me. My prayers are with you all as well for your continued healing from this trauma.

Thanks for the update. I've not had the news on this a.m.--- so hadn't heard of this. As Tony Blair said yesterday, remember their intent is to spread this kind of fear (and perhaps to show that they can do what they want.) Though HORRIBLE, perhaps "taking out" still another suicide bomber may begin to give a different kind of message as well.
This is all SO AWFUL!!!!!!!!!!
But...keep the faith and keep praying and so will we.
In a sense, since you're committed to MUCH work right now, focusing on that CAN be a kind of saving grace for you, I think.
As Satscout says...
"Courage, dear heart!"
