ME! ha ha ha... I'm 35 today! It's such a blessing. The Bible says people have 70 years...I know it's more than that often (and I can't remember the context of it right now, either)...but if I do live until I'm 70 - then the next 35 years will be WAY better than the first 35. I'm free! I'm alive! I'm married! I'm happy. Four things I thought I'd NEVER EVER be!!!!

So, I just wanted to share that with you all tonight. Keep working on things...it's worth it!!

I see that you did not neglect to mention a foreward view to age 70.........I think most people do the same...........When your half way there,,,,,it would appear we stop disbelieving in "There" ;)
Love Jerry,,,,,,,,,,,,, :p Happy Birthday :D

Hi "Jubileesong"/Hannah--

I don't know that we've had much of a chance to "chat" before, but I wanted to wish you the best and to tell you that I've read your profile and some of your posts re your career goals and will be keeping you in prayer about that. It sounds like you've done a LOT to work past old pain and to USE that pain toward helping others.

Do you know of Flora Slosson Wuellner's work? What is coming to mind in particular is her book "Prayer, Stress and our Inner Wounds" in which she meditates on how Christ's wounds were still visible after the resurrection. As I recall, she said something like "God's Providence wastes NOTHING!"

You might also like Henri Nouwen's work. I've not read this, but his "Wounded Healer" is a classic in contemporary ministry, I think---with thoughts similar to Wuellner's. As you may know, Nouwen was a Roman Catholic priest who had a ministry with the handicapped at "L'Arche"---in Canada--I THINK! A well-published author, his books have also dealt with the spiritual ramifications of his own emotional life, which included depression AND, as I now have learned in a recent article about him, having to deal with the implications of being a homosexual.

May God guide your steps and give you much joy and peace in THIS day. I remember your age as having been one of my more "significant" (and STRESSFUL) birthdays as I was working in a VERY unsatisfying job and wondering where/how my life had gotten SO off-track. A few years after that, our long-held dream of having children came to pass (and I might STILL wonder where OTHER dreams have still gotten "lost!").

In any case, it sounds like you have MUCH going for you at present which can give you confidence that you ARE "on track!" So...congratulations to you and many blessings in THIS day.

May your dreams come true....OR....may you be given the wisdom to know where and how to fashion NEW ones! :)

Happy birthday Hannah!

While there are some aspects of getting older that are not especially appealing, there are an equal number that are.

One who knows....
