The worship leader at the church I'm currently playing bass at used a song yesterday by Jars of clay called Fade to Grey. It talks about the way black and white thinking doesn't work among christians, everything just "fades to grey" It was specifically in reference to judging your brothers based on things some think are black and white such as drinking, smoking, etc. and if their conscience is clear, who are we to judge?
They read the scripture that talks about why would you judge your brother about food or drink and that we all stand or fall to our own master.
I had just recently told him (the worship leader) about a friend at my old church (I was still going there at the time, but had been taken off the worship team because of my marriage situation) I was playing at the new church and going right after we played to my old church because of the kids involvement there. When I told my friend there I was playing on his team, she said , "well, they must have lower standards"
I said, no, he just cares what God thinks! :D Anyway, I told him about it (4 months later) and he said, I think if someone said that to me, I would just have to laugh in their face!! :D
I just had to share this happy story with you since it made me feel a lot better.
