I see that you're online. Others might be, as well...but I've not figured that out yet. I'm baking and cooking and listening to music. How are you?

Hello Jubilleesong! Baking and cooking and listening to music? WOW!

Have we had the opportunity to meet yet Jubileesong?

Are you new here? I want to welcome you if you are....

It is nice to have you here.

What are you baking?

Hi... No, I'm not new here. I've been here before - but it's been a while. I moved from Dallas to Seattle, so it's been hectic.

Our church is having a 3 year anniversary party today and I'm baking a pumpkin cake and some hot dog roll ups.

It's SOOOOOOOO wonderful to be baking for a church function because I WANT to and not because I HAVE to!!! No one knows what I'm bringing...no one's made any heavy handed suggestions or even said I had to bring a single thing. That may sound silly to some people - but it's wonderful to me. :0)

What are you doing?

Boy do I hear you Jubilleesong about not having to! I made sauerkraut and pork for a church dinner once for the Fall Fun Fest and then every year it was that is what you will bring... I would put in 4 roasts and tons of saurkraut and roast it for like 2 days before I took it and then it would have all the flavors run through it. People loved it but it got really expensive so I started running away from it.... But you know the worst part is ...like you said the obligation to take anything... It is more fun to do it and like you are now and not be made to. To give it from the heart and make your special stuff up. That is fun. I agree that is fun to do and that makes for a much nicer celebration.

So I am sitting here at the computer and reading the posts and trying to stay out of a whining mode.

I dont' go to church right now but I am going to get back into it soon.

I am sure I will.

PUMPKIN CAKE I am so hungry now and I have lost 52 pounds in two months and I want some good stuff to eat. LOL

YUM...

Yeah! That much meat can sure get expensive!!!

52 pounds in 2 months!? What have you been doing to do that?

I don't think you're whiny at all. I just replied to another post you wrote entitled, "I wondering"...tell me what you think.

:0)

Part of the weight came off from being sick but originally I started a fat free/low carb diet. I basically live on vegetables and protein. I don't use margarine, butter or anything that has fat. I totally live on things like cabbage, peas, string beans, spinach, lima beans, you name I eat it for veggies as long as it isn't beats or too many carrots or winter squash. I live on skinless chicken for protein and I don't eat even cheese which I love. I live pretty fat free and low carb as is healthy for me. I occasionally have a potato and I occasionaly have a beans which have carbs but I don't allow myself much at all. This is the only way I will get the weight off. I have tons more to go.

You see when after I quit smoking and drinking, I didn't realize that I went to eating. I thought I got more spiritual. LOL ... Which I didn't and it wasn't until my friend challenged me on my addictive behaviors that I decided to see for myself. I monitored every time I got food and you know what, every time I got upset I wanted a cheeseburger, pizza, chips, and yadayad... I gaine oodles of weight not to mention that I am a binge eater then gone anorexic to the point of a Size 3 with a size 12 build and end up with IV's in my arms. So this time, I decided that I needed to do it for my heart but I am trying so hard to kick the addictive behavior and thoughts in the head...it got really bad when I left my church last year and I probably gained about 40 pounds after that and would have gained more if I hadn't of got upset so many times. LOL

So that is how and I am trying to do it carefully.
Thanks for asking.

That's cool that you've lost so much weight. I'm glad you found what works for you. For me, I can't handle "deprivation diets". I'd rather do something that is a lifestyle change...I believe balance is good. I use the weight watchers online. Then, I can eat whatever I want, but I just count up points per day and it's SO much easier!! I've lost about 10 pounds so far...not bad. It's coming off really slow - but that's partly my fault for not exercising enough. I need to work on that for sure!

May I ask where you live? I don't mean your address...but maybe state or country?

Thanks!

Hi Hannah,
Funny you mentioned the deprivation because as I was writing it, I was really hankering for some good food. LOL I don't handle well either truthfully. I am not balanced when I seen that in writing. I try to be but I am not. Everything I like has bad stuff in it for me. I live in NY state on the west side of the state ...no where near NYC area.

So you found weight watchers online? Because my doctor wanted me to go and I can't afford it and I was like I can't handle that expense but I have to do something different because I am still a piggy.

Thanks for sharing with me.

If it helps at all, Weight Watchers online is only $14.95/month after the first sign up (I think it's for three months at once plus a $20 sign up fee or something). It really helps me. Smile.

Have a great day!
