Is it me or does it seem like triggers get you more when you are nervous already....?????

One of the women coming to my home tonight asked me my opinion as a social worker. always makes my warning flags go up.

She told me that a young child was waiting outside their (the child's) door for 20 minutes or so. She finally went and knocked on the door. The parents didn't look shocked, so she said<"I was ready to call the police! If it happens again, I will!"

She just moved into this neighborhood less than 1 month ago.
She couldn't tell me how old the child was. . . .

She wanted to know if she should still call the police!

I DON"T WANT HER IN MY HOUSE! WHEN THAT IS THE FIRST RESPONSE OF A CHRISTIAN I AM SOOOO ANGRY!

Call the police???? For what? For a child on their doorstep who could be 8,9 or 10 years old??????

Is it me or is it the one's always criticizing everyone else's parenting style that seem like they need the most help!

Jane

about that PTSD< I am afraid that she might call the police on me, isn't it terrible to live in fear.....

Sorry Jane. Triggers just are.

I know what many of mine are. Fortunately I am learning how to deal with some of the different circumstances they occur. I am healing from a lot of the hurt of rejection. I guess you just accept and adapt after awhile. Plus there's nothing I can do about what other people say or do.

I had a trigger last night when I was reading a different message board.

Some know-it-all was talking about "church-hoppers" and how they are never satisfied wherever they go and they ought to just develop a thicker-skin so that they can be better church members. And that people who have been burned by the church are just too sensitive and need to get over it and learn how to get along with people.

I think what set me off is that we were blamed (after the leaders stabbed us in the back) for not being willing to work things out with them, ON THEIR TERMS! Anyone it just irks me that after abusing people, they then have the nerve to blame them too for not PLAYING NICE!

Anyway, I just thought I'd add my rant to this trigger thread.
