I post this a little in disbelief;
Australian 60 minutes did an interview with Mr. Tom Cruise.
(Co-incided with his 'infamous" Oprah interview).
A condition of the interview was that the interviewer ,Peter Overton ,spend 4 hours at the Church of Scientology :confused:
( I wonder whether Oprah too had to visit the Church of Scientiology prior to her interview! :rolleyes: ) Me thinks not!!
He obliged, and indulged MR.Cruise. When he asked why it was necessary to spend 4 hours at the Church of Scientology as a pre-requisite for said interview, Mr Cruise became very defensive and accused Mr Overton of having "no manners "and to put them "back in", ( sounded very "Jerry Maguire "-ish!)
( Actually it was curious to watch the interview as he seemed to "move between" character's of past movies.........was kinda weird) :rolleyes:
Then he babbled about Psychiatry being rubbish, that there is no Psych illness that can't be cured ( pretty much by him :eek: ), and that he has ,personally helped lots of people 'get off ' prescribed medication for various illnesses' such as ADDH , dyslexia, depression (including post partum, etc..... which he also claimed he had been diagnosed with as a child but "fortunatly" his mother refused the medications!! ( That is for his "supposed" , dyslexia and ADDH).
Anyway, a half hour later I knew nothing more about Tom Cruise other than he was downright rude!
I knew nothing more about the Church Of Scientology and why it was so secretive, or why Peter Overton HAD to go there first!! :confused:
Peter Overton apologised at the completion of the interview if he offended Mr Cruise, and MR Cruise said,slapping him, that's ok "you stepped over the line and I put you in your place!") :rolleyes: :eek:
Followed by Oprah's interview ,where he couldn't say, do, or show enough of himself.........'twas very strange to say the least!
He would answer NO questions about Nicole Kidman ( who is Aussie ,as are their children) , to our Australian interviewer , just trying to give, what I perceived "equal" time on the issue , particularly religion as Nicole is Catholic , (her
father a well known Psychologist), ,and Katie is "christian" who is converting to "Church of Scientology" before they marry!!!
MR.Cruise made this point clear about Katie! BUT only to Oprah, our Australian interviewer was NOt allowed to broach any of these topics.........Oprah couldn't shut him up!!!)
Anyway, my two cents at what I saw a public way to "abuse" /confuse people about religion, Psychology, mental health issues and marriage .

I guess I was left confused as to what had upset Mr cruise????
( Is it Us Aussie's ?? "cos we're really very harmless, curious but harmless :p :D )
