View Full Version : We're doing it!
We are actually doing it! We've got about 5 other families so far and they are all coming to our home friday night. Somes got guitars, drums and one has keyboards. So we are going to have a campfire!
We got the bugspray, smores and drinks ready. Keep us in your prayers-- we got assembly of god families and home churched families and baptist (no spiritual stuff) families.. .......'
let's hope we can all eat and sing in the name of Jesus and not get caught up in our goofyness about docterine!

Keep us posted. This sounds so good.
Remember Us tonight guys! I am a nervous wreck. Please keep us in your prayers. 6:30 everyone is coming for a campfire!
It has been a rough week. Today I had a million things trigger me. Does anyone else feel like they have post traumatic stress disorder?
A few families are coming from the calvary chapel church that the pastor just closed last week--going back to washington state.
A few from the local assemblies of God, a few are "unchurched" and two are baptist.
Hopefully we can all have a good time just as christians. There are even a few families who will be here from the church that we left last year.
Well, just thought I 'd pop my head in here and ask for your prayers and support,
Jane :o

I HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MINE FOR A LONG TIME AND AM DONE WITH IT. MAYBE A FEW STRAYS IN THERE. :) I THINK. NOW ITS TIME I DEAL WITH THE CHURCH ABUSE. butterfly
Hello,
butterfly,
been here all week but really really busy. Mostly to do with my 5 year old. Last Sunday we had a birthday party for him- and he had some more evaluations this week. We got the results back from a Fragile X test. The way the doctors were calling me back and what not from Monday to Wednesday, I thought they were going to tell me it was a Positive result. I am praising God that it was negative. Don't get me wrong, we would deal with it if it was dealt to us- but it is one more hurdle we got over. Then a man we knew died Sunday night- that was difficult. He lived in North Carolina but was one of the few that I trusted to tell me about things in the Lord. Our loss is his gain.
Tonight went extremely well- thanks for everyone's prayers and support. You're always there Kerrin--- dependable-- thank you that I can't count on you.
It went BETTER than I planned. Looks like one couple left the assembly of God church too. She didn't get into it-- wants to have worship and campfire every friday if we are open to it. About 25 people in all (11 being kids :D ).
OTHER people brought up wanting to get together with out our differences-- no docterine etc....just to fellowship and worship.
We got a worship team- keyboard, electric guitars and all. . . .need a drummer- got a few who play bongos.
So it looks like we got some kind of fellowship going to be going on here on Friday nights. Everyone wants to come back and bring more people.
I set a ground rule when we started; I explained how there were many from different beliefs and backgrounds. I said we could get together as often as we all want with one condition-- no one could hurt anyone in Jesus' name. I clarified; If someone isn't comptfortable with tongues, prophesiying etc... then don't go there. Don't do anything to anyone; focus on Jesus period. THEY ALL AGREED> SEEMS MOST HAVE BEEN HURT BY CHURCH LIKE US ALL HERE> the one's who haven't been hurt are open to still just having a fun time in His name.
We'll see what happens as time goes on. . . continue to pray for us please.
Thanks again for your support.
So I guess us believers really are the church and not the building; administration; services on Sunday;certain order etc.....

That sounds like so much fun!!! I wish I could go!!!
I've been thinking, I really don't need a real "church" so much as I need a small group (though I plan to continue going to church also). I once heard a sermon on how the early christians went from house to house, and I realized that big organized church wasn't the original way, it was something like you described!!
Sounds like you have the real thing. :)

:D :D HAPPY TO SEE YOU HERE....you'll have ALOT to offer, I know it.. :D :D
I think you to will be touched by some of the love here....and the pain....makes me wonder what the heck the "church" is doing these days, maybe something like an abomination at the alter....anyway, just my thoughts.
I am going to send back your last email--things are really crazy here; last days of school for my children. My oldest just finished final exams and my 5 year old, his preschool. We are setting him up for a summer intervention program that starts next week and after that my teenage son is going to Flordia for three weeks to work with my brother Levi on his commercial fishing boat in the gulf....busybusybusy...
I am also spending much too much time in my garden and LOVING it! Today we were at the beach.
My girlfriend's daughter is going to Italy Saturday to visit family. I think she said Fresco? Is that a town? I thought they were from Sicily but I'll double check and get back to you. She is the teen my son has eyes for....and her family has been coming on Friday nights...good people. If they are near you, I'll tell them to look you up :)
Well, WELCOME CARMEN!
Love,
Jane

Pat,
How far south are you? If you are in New England on a Friday night, bring an instrument!!!
You know what I figure----where two or more are gathered Jesus is in the midst AND He is enthroned upon the praises of His people.
So for now, we take baby steps and stay away from docterine. We all just want to worship Jesus and be touched by Him in our lives....
Love,
Jane

Sounds more like what heaven will be like than what most of us are used to in church. Wish I could come and join in.
c'mon over then!
if you live too far, PM me with any prayer requests and we'll pray with you on Friday nights....

I'm way south, alabama with "a banjo on my knee" in fact, I'm in a bluegrass band and we play a lot around town. We love to sing and play closer walk with thee, Angel Band, Where Could I go, and the old tunes. It's great to see the faces in the audience when you bring out those old tunes and just worship to them. Anyway, I would come if I were close by, that's so neat. Keep us posted and maybe one day, I'll get the nerve to try something like that here. Neat thing is, you can have anybody play, the teenager who knows 2 chords can be just as welcome as the guy that was in a band ten years. No trying out!! I was raised going to bluegrass festivals and that's the way they did, they had jam sessions, and there were groups playing everywhere and the new musicians would just stand on the outside and play quietly, the better you got, the more of a role you took. To me, that's more like it should be, if we were in the old time churches again where everybody was welcome. :)
God Bless

Hi Jane, I am glad your Friday nights are going great. Do children go also? If so it will give them good memories. My husband and I love bluegrass. :D We listen to it from the internet. Also we have alot of bluegrass c d. I wish we did have old time churches like Pat posted about. Wouldn"t it be great just to get along and worship God and have a great time singing. :) Everone no matter how you could sing. In my heart it says that is what it should be. butterfly
" Do children go also?"
Oh YES! The first night we had 21 people, 11 of them were children!
This is a very child centered home! We got rid of a dog once that someone gave us, a BEAUTIFUL red siberian huskey with blue eyes because she did not like children.
The drummer gave my 5 year old his drum sticks and let Caleb play on his drum set. During the actual worship, Caleb played on an african drum.
Hannah and her friend Giovanna danced around and around and around (they are 2 and 1 1 /2)
My teenage son and the girl he likes were playing guitar and bass together....
Children are definitly welcome!
