i just wanted to tell you what happened this weekend.
one of the girls who was forbidden to associate with my daughters( so she was sent to college at 16) has come home this week. she is now 18.
she had to go to court for a ticket and her mom went with her. at one point in the morning, she began to stretch and her shirt came up enough to expose her newly pierced belly button!!! her mom told her to take it out but she wouldnt. they got into this really big argument over it and her mom told her to" just go to hell then. i dont care anymore". well, this girl just laughed about it but i know that deep down inside its gotta leave wounds. its kinda a joke for these kids to joke around about ...going to hell...because they have been taught that if you wear pants, get a tattoo, get your ears(or anything else) pierced, listen to any music besides hymns, dont wear your shirt tucked in , and alot of other stuff, that you are worshipping satan and hes your father. some of the boys were told that just because they rode 4-wheelers they were idol worshippers and ungodly.
now i cant say that i agree with all these activities but i dont believe they have anything to do with your eternal destination. just pray for these young people. all the ones, except for a very small handful, have come through this church scarred in some way. and pray that they stop joking around about being hell-bound. its really not something to joke around about.

None of our three attend church. They all quit largely because of the controlling and abusive nature they experienced. Churches make all these rules (often with no scriptural authority) and then wonder why such a large percentage of their young people leave when they become adults.

I don't approve of all those things either (our daughter has a tatoo on her ankle), but the tatoo has nothing to do with her spiritual condition. Nor does it bar her from having a realationship with God.
