I am off this weekend. I saw the pleas for OT. I am burned out. So I will take care of myself and sit out this crisis. I slept in late. Fixed a pot of coffee. Will go work out catch a meeting and church in the morning. Will try to play catch with email and meetings.
Of course my thoughts and prayers are with anyone in Florida. My father in law lives in Jacksonville.
The weather has done a number on the airlines. I read a financial report and wondered if it might be time to get my resume updated.

Ex shep, "when it rains it pours" ... but GREAT that you are able to give yourself the down time you know you so badly need ... YAY for your weekend off!!!! :D And yes, our prayers for those who, if the Bible is true, God sure seems to be trying to say something to them .... since all things testify of Him... don't they? [sometimes life is SO confusing!]

God sure seems to be trying to say something to them ....
I have a hard time believing that God would do something like that to get His children's attention. To me, that would be like me walking into my daughter's room and blasting her upside the head with a baseball bat to get her attention. I'm not trying to start a controversy with you, I just cringe at the idea of a big bully god ready to pounce on people and torture them to get his way.
Personally, I think it's just a bad storm and there's nothing more to read into it.

Hi Ex-Shep:
SO glad you got some time off! A lot of folks seem to be weary of this whole ordeal. One of my friends from Florida, said he has never done so much praying in his life and he is so tired. He said the folks are weary there. So I can imagine you wanting a break from all that stuff with the airlines. I am so glad you took time to post. It is always good to hear from you!
Enjoy your activities during your time off.

No, more like trying to get her to stop hurting herself or someone else, because that's what "sin" is - something that hurts others (and ourselves most of all.) God doesn't just smack people around for no reason.
So, here, your daughter is doing something seriously wrong and ok, what if you HAD been trying to get her attention for "long enough", with increasingly hard-to-ignore messages ... and she kept blowing you off? You might find that you had to finally take things to the next level and do what it took to not only get her to
1.) pay attention to you but to
2.) listen and
3.) see that you meant business so
4.) yeah, she better change her tune, and
5.) soon!
This is just how people are and it just seems to be how they respond over and over and over and over and over again.
