When will it ever end? It never ceases to amaze me that it is always Christians who hurt me the most. The bruises are so close to the surface. It doesn't take much to experience excruciating pain.
When will it ever end?
Sometimes I despair of trying again.

Dear Pauline,,
Why is it Christians that hurt us the most???? Well because of "Twisted Scripture" teaching. They teach that fear = flawed faith,,,,,,,if you don't speek in tongues you don't have the "Holy Spirit" ,,,,if you question or get angry you have a "Demon" and heres the big one,,,,,,,If your Christian your special !!! People that embrace these twisted concepts delude themselves into thinking that being Christian, somehow eleivates them above the rest of humanity thus dulling their spirit. They begin to judge everything as if it grew out of the one flat piece of ground they stand on. They view others as if they didn't cry, didn't wake up in the night screaming, didn't reach for the phone knowing, didn't hear their child calling to them, didn't feel the thrill of passion in the presance of the one they love,as if they weren't here with us, watching their friends walk whole before them, toward their deaths.......They want to love you Pauline, but they can't,,,,,they are numb.

dear Pauline,
I too, am waiting to see when the pain will end; to understand how "christians" can hurt so deeply ,and yet blame you/me for being defective!
Next to my abusive upbringing, my abuisive husband........,the so-called 'christian' friends i had rate pretty high up there....... what they did feels like "rape'.( and I can say that 'cos it happened to me!).
Sorry if I offend anyone.
Is it part of healing to start 'feeling" such intense "hate"!!!!!
Sorry again.
( I'm really quite petite and small...... :o ).
Love

Thanks Kerrin for your response. I am better today. It used to be that something like this would devastate me for months, sometimes years, but I guess I am healing because I seem to be able to bounce back a little faster. Not that it doesn't take a peace of me somehow.
My health has suffered greatly from all the stress and hurt that so called "church" has caused me. So I can say to you, "Been there, done that".
But because I don't belong to a church now, I can just walk away from certain situations without further abuse being heaped on me. I know many will say "Well that is how we grown as Christians!" Been there, done that too. I have walked in love and silence more than I would like to remember. But there comes a time when enough is enough! I Have to protect my health or I will die. It's not a matter of choice anymore but of survival. And in case anyone is wondering the hurt has nothing to do with anyone on this forum.

More wars were fought over religious issues than for any other. Go figure. People who take religion to extremes will always have more conflict than others because of their rush-to-judgment mentality. I know, I used to be a religious extremist. It takes a while to get this out of your system.

Ditto, so how/when is it safe to trust ?
Is there some "test" one can make prospective "friends" take?
Wish there was..

Oh yes....and not to have an agenda!!!!
Well I thing we can be worst hurt by those we most care about; family, friends, church. Itīs not a domain of Christians only... Though that doesnīt mean it hurts less... I understand.

LOVE and HATE only become feelings once they are embraced,,,,,,,,,before that,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they are choices we make...........

it never ceases to amaze me that church people can treat others the worst, some of them like to Bible beat people, they can see everyone elses faults except their own, and they can lie like no one else can...i sometimes prefer to be around sinners because i know what to expect from them, and they are more sincere than some in the church.
but...i realize that for every Christian who has done harm to me, in every instance i saw it coming so could not be surprised when they did what they did. i have learned through trials and tests that God always sends me a warning about
"unsafe" people and i don't have to leave myself vulnerable to their abuse.
even Christ did not allow anyone to abuse Him until it was time, He knew how to get people out of His face in a Godly way and they had to shut up and leave Him alone. i am going to study that more because there will always be church folk who think they have the right to run over others, especially quiet people who don't talk a lot.
they tried to control, dominate, manipulate, and they tried to change my thoughts and although i may have been bruised, their lies did not penetrate my spirit because of the Truth i already knew and i am all the better for what i experienced. i am a lot stronger than i knew myself to be. i may be the enemy to them but God is my friend and if He is for me then it does not matter who is against me.
God bless you
salome
