Emerging:
I am sorry to hear of your loss. I have been praying and I am sure that don't feel good to hear when you have such a loss but I am praying for your comfort.
Thanks for the update. I almost missed seeing it and I would have felt bad. I thought I read everything word for word but Amber picked up on it and thankfully I read her post.
SO sorry Emerging.

Thank you so much. It's been so hard because she was so young, but also it's been such a relief to have her go on her own terms. :( But what a learning experience her passing has been. I've heard that when someone nears their time of passing, a door opens between this world and the next ... and through it, wisdom flows. But this time I have learned so much. As I reported at the SA forum ....
.... she was getting so miserable that I prayed for her departure last night ... and she left shortly after we all went to bed. She was SO thoughtful even in her last hours!!
I finally thought of "the shot" to just end it all and let her be. Yet as soon as I did that, I seemed to hear her take righteous offense at my thought ... how dare I take from her her last few hours on earth! ... how dare I seek to take control of *her* act of dying! ... I share this because I never thought of dying this way, but only how we live as being so very important. ... could it be that how we die is also of great importance?
Smokey would not want us to mourn her passing, but instead to celebrate her renewal of connection with all her loved ones both on this side and the next. :p
She would want us to remember how important every day and every life is ... and hope we could make the absolute best of them that we can! :)
Finally, Smokey would want us all to just be cool!
Thank you for allowing me to turn this sad news into a celebration of her continuing journey and what I've learned from one precious little gerbil girl. :o

I wish someone had given little Jesus a pet
As loyal and loving as mine
To sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes
And adore Him for being divine.
As our Lord grew to manhood, His own faithful pet
Would have followed Him all through the day
While He preached to the crowds and made the sick well
And knelt in the garden to pray.
It is sad to remember that Christ went away
To face death alone and apart
With no tender pet following close behind
To comfort it's Master's heart.
And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn
How happy He would have been
As His pet kissed His hand and gazed its delight
For the One who died for all men.
Well, the Lord has a pet now, I just sent Him mine
That old pal so dear to me
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone
Knowing Jesus has a pet, from me.
